Who we are

Where heritage industry leadership meets high-performance apparel manufacturing

Onivja Global Research (Pvt) Ltd is an apparel manufacturer established in May 2008 in Malabe, in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. We produce woven and knitted garments, with a deep specialism in intimate apparel and everyday knitwear, for brands across Europe, India and the UAE.

The company was founded by a garment professional who held a key managerial position at MAS Holdings, one of South Asia's most respected apparel groups. That lineage shapes how we work: disciplined production, traceable sourcing, and standards written for international markets from day one.

We are not the largest house in Sri Lanka. We are the one that behaves as though every order carries our name, because it does.

Our story

Seventeen years, built one order at a time

2008

A house is founded

Registered in May 2008 in Malabe by a professional with more than two decades in the garment trade and a senior background at MAS Holdings. The aim from the outset: serve international buyers to international standards.

2013

A niche, carved early

The factory earned a reputation for variety in design and colour and for innovation in style, becoming a dependable partner rather than just a vendor. Woven and knit capability grew side by side.

2018

Intimates become a specialism

Investment in flat-lock, elastic-attach and cylinder-bed machinery turned underwear into a core competency, a category that rewards precision, repeatability and care.

Today

Research and development

Onivja moves into a light-filled, purpose-arranged factory of brick, glass and open floors, with room to grow the partnerships that got us here.

A word from the Director

We do not chase every order. We keep the ones we earn.

Built on more than 30 years of industry expertise, Onivja goes beyond traditional garment manufacturing. We combine technical knowledge, innovation and a solution-oriented mindset to help brands overcome production challenges and reach a standard they can stand behind.

Why we exist

Made where ethical apparel is a point of national pride

Sri Lanka is known for garments made without guilt: a skilled, respected workforce, strong labour standards, and decades supplying the most demanding fashion and intimates brands. Onivja is a small, focused expression of that tradition.

Our mission

To make apparel worn against the skin with precision, integrity and care: a partner brands can trust completely, and a workplace built on dignity.

Our vision

To be the intimate-apparel house of choice for conscientious brands worldwide, and proof that a focused Sri Lankan factory can meet the highest standards on quality, ethics and trust.

What we make

Garments people live in, made to the standard skin demands

Intimate apparel is unforgiving. There is nowhere to hide a crooked seam, a loose elastic or an inconsistent size. That is exactly why we chose it.

Alongside intimates, we produce t-shirts, polos, kids' graphic tees, casual tops and woven blouses. Variety in design and colour is where we started, and short, complex runs are still handled without drama, with printing, cut-and-sew panelling and full finishing in-house.

Private label

Your label. Our hands. Nobody is the wiser.

Most of what we produce ships under someone else's name, and that is exactly how it should be. We build the garment; you build the brand.

01

Brief and tech pack

Send a design, a sample or a spec. Supply fabric and trims yourself, or lean on our sourcing to build the full package on CMP or NFE terms.

02

Sampling and approval

Our sample room produces protos and pre-production samples, with current certificates from every fabric and trim supplier so your bill of materials is traceable.

03

Bulk production

Six lines, 61 machines and closely tied departments carry the approved sample into bulk, with every stage supervised against international quality standards.

04

Finish, pack and ship

Sorting, checking, pressing and packing in your packaging, to your carton spec, delivered in 30–45 days.

Our facility

Three floors, one continuous seam

Departments are deliberately tied together, so nothing is lost in a hand-off. Naturally lit, open and organised, the floor is arranged so a garment moves cleanly from one operation to the next.

6Production lines dedicated to underwear

01

Cutting floor

Fabric is laid, marked and cut: up to 8,000 underwear pieces and 1,500 t-shirts a day.

02

Sewing floor

Six lines and 61 machines assemble the cut pieces, matched to the right construction for each garment. Every piece is then sorted and checked against the approved sample before it moves forward.

03

Product development centre

Pattern, design and sampling under one roof, where protos and pre-production samples are developed with the buyer before bulk.

Responsibility, sewn in

Standards you can audit

We built for international markets from the start, so compliance is documented, not asserted. Supplier certificates are refreshed with every order, keeping the whole bill of materials traceable and current.

Environmental

CEA approved

Approval from Sri Lanka's Central Environmental Authority is a way of running the floor, not a plaque on the wall.

Chemical safety

PFAS / fluorine testing

We test fabrics for fluorine, the key indicator of PFAS, so brands that promise a chemically safe product can hold us to it.

Traceability

Full BOM certificates

Current certificates are requested from every fabric and trim supplier, on every order.

Workplace

Fair & safe

A workforce treated with dignity, on a floor run to strong Sri Lankan labour standards.

Registration

EDB & Registrar of Companies

Incorporated with the Registrar-General of Companies, Sri Lanka, and registered with the Export Development Board. Approved by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Recognition

Sustainability Awards 2022

Recognised by AHK Sri Lanka (Delegation of German Industry and Commerce) and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
